Pharmaneuroboost (PNB) reported today that it will present, on May 22nd, study results on the mode of action of pipamperone in boosting the effect of first-line SSRI antidepressants at the 65th Annual Meeting of the Society of Biological Psychiatry in New Orleans.
“These animal study results confirm the unique receptor binding profile of low dose pipamperone and further support its mode of action in boosting the antidepressant effect of SSRIs ”, says Chief Science Officer and Chief Executive Officer Erik Buntinx, psychiatrist, who was first to identify and report the beneficial clinical effects of PNB01 in patients.
“The pathophysiology of depression is very complex and far from being elucidated”, says Dr T.E. Schlaepfer, Professor Psychiatry (Bonn and Johns Hopkins, US) ”and these data help to understand at least some of its underlying mechanisms and to develop potentially substantial treatment improvements.”
