Today the recently founded company ADx NeuroSciences NV entered into a license agreement with K.U.Leuven, the academic founder of ADx NeuroSciences. The license agreement grants ADx NeuroSciences exclusive worldwide rights to further develop and commercialise certain antibodies which selectively bind phosphorylated Tau aggregates. ADx NeuroSciences is a new biotech company that focuses on the development of novel (bio)markers for use in the diagnosis of dementia, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other neurodegenerative diseases.
Current tests to diagnose patients with Alzheimer’s disease are unable to indicate the prognosis of the disease. As a consequence, the pharma industry as well as clinicians will urgently need novel markers to be able to identify patients and to predict how the disease evolves. In response to this demand, ADx NeuroSciences aims to commercialise diagnostic products for neurodegenerative disorders that are developed in close collaboration with pharma.
