Medanex is a veterinary consultancy firm established in 2003 and specialized in laboratory animal science. Medanex can assist biomedical en biotech companies in all aspects of performing their animal studies, with emphasis on large animals (sheep, goats, pigs and llamas). Medanex’ core values are animal welfare, quality, flexibility and competence.

Medanex has now opened its own service facility for large laboratory animals, the ‘Medanex Clinic,’ in Diest (about 60 km from Brussels). The clinic provides accommodation for up to 250 large animals, conventionally housed in individual or group boxes. A 375 m² surgery facility includes a fully equipped large surgery theatre, intensive care and recovery units, autopsy room, pharmacy, sterilization room, laboratory and offices.

Competent staff ensures adequate housing, screening and health monitoring of the animals, in compliance with national and international legislation and guidelines. Specialized veterinary surgeons are available to assist with or conduct a wide variety of surgical procedures.
