Company Profile

Janssen Diagnostics is a research driven biotech company and a leader in the field of HIV-1 drug resistance testing. Our products and services are aimed at enhancing antiretroviral therapy management and improving the quality of life of people living with HIV and AIDS. Janssen Diagnostics was the first company to commercially provide an HIV-1 phenotyping assay, the Antivirogram(R), and is the only company that provides the virco(R)TYPE HIV-1, an advanced, data-driven and complete drug resistance analysis system. Our commitment to develop the world’s best patient management tools is reflected in continuous research efforts applying cutting edge and innovative biotech and bioinformatics technologies.

Science & Technology or Services

Janssen Diagnostics uses advanced techniques in biotechnology, (pharmaco-)genomics and applied bio-informatics, combined with medical and clinical virology expertise, to develop and commercialize state of the art genotyping, phenotyping and virtual phenotyping assays for HIV-1 and other viral infections.

Product description

  • Antivirogram(R): the first commercially available HIV-1 phenotyping assay and the only such assay that is clinically validated in a prospective, randomized clinical trial.
  • virco(R)TYPE HIV-1: HIV-1 genotype with quantitative phenotypic analysis, based on the world’s largest HIV-1 drug resistance database.

Our researchers are currently developing various assays for testing HIV-1 resistance to novel antiretroviral drug targets, as well as software tools for advanced and practical HIV therapy management.

Alliances

Janssen Diagnostics has alliances with various partners and collaborators around the world. These include partnerships for basic research and product development, strategic relationships with HIV Resistance Core centers in Europe, Canada and Asia, and commercial alliances with various distributors worldwide (Delphic (UK), LabCorp (US), Quest (US), ARUP (US), Esoterix (US), SRA (Japan), etc.).
