As a contract research laboratory EggCentris is specialised in the analysis of the reproductive function. They offer question-directed project research and screening of compounds in their unique battery of innovative multi-parametric long-term in vitro bioassays assessing effects on female and male fertility and embryo toxicity. EggCentris offers quality and safety testing for products, labware, culture media and medical devices used for fertility treatments.

EggCentris’ mission is to contribute to the safeguarding of the reproductive capacity and the wellbeing of the individual. Our core activity is to study interferences with the normal life cycle by alternative approaches and innovative testing strategies. EggCentris is also a quality control lab for culture and support media, lab ware and medical devices used for fertility treatments. In-Vitro test batteries:

Female fertility : FBA (Follicle Bioassay; assessment of ovarian cycle, steroidogenesis, oocyte development),IVM (In vitro maturation; assessment of the meiotic process), IVF (In vitro fertilisation; functional assessment of gamete (oocyte/sperm) quality. MEA( mouse embryo assay).

Male fertility: Leydig and Sertoli cell cultures, Sperm analysis.

Embryo toxicity: MEPA (mouse peri-implantation assay), EST (embryonic stem cell test)

Model development (in vitro; ex-vivo and in vivo)

Quality control for fertility treatment : MEA (mouse embryo assay), SMA (sperm motility assay), IVF (in-vitro fertilisation), LAL (kinetic chromogenic method for quantification of endotoxins).
