ChinArt BVBA and its precursor P.A.Consult BVBA were established in 2002 (capital: €400K). Founder and CEO, Paul J. Appermont (62), Dr. Jur., MBA, is a pioneer in doing business in biotech and is a recognized specialist in business ventures in Japan and China. The name ChinArt refers to Paul's personal interest in trade and exhibitions of 'objets d'art' from China. He started in 1972 as an international Business Lawyer at Janssen Pharmaceutica/J&J, Beerse to become VP Trade & Licensing for Biogen in 1982, one of the first and world's most successful biopharmaceutical companies. In 1986 he joined Innogenetics as a Business Executive focused on infectious diseases, and currently targets the field of neurodegeneration. He has been President of the Benelux Licensing Executives Society, President of the Belgian BioIndustries Association, and a Board Member of EuropaBio and FBBS.

ChinArt provides services "from Contact to Contract" to a number of healthcare - pharma and biotech - companies. Furthermore, in 2008 ChinArt successfully partnered and introduced the 'old' biotechnology i.e. Belgian specialty beers and super-Tuscan wines in China. Chinese Traditional Medicine (TCM) is another area of interest.
