apDia’s mission is to develop & produce advanced, efficient, user-friendly, cost-effective and CE-marked diagnostic products to support decisions in healthcare practices and research. apDia’s activities are R&D, production and commercialization of reagents, test kits and instruments in the fields of rheumatism-inflammation, infectious diseases, cardiovascular diseases, cancers, psychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders.
apDia is a young biotech company founded in 2008 in Belgium. It relies on highly experienced staff, specialized in developing and manufacturing innovative IVD medical devices to be launched in various fields of application.
It is apDia’s primary objective to offer advanced, user-friendly and cost-effective immunoassays well suited for the intended health care settings. To meet the current trends in human health care and in in vitro diagnostics, apDia aims to develop and manufacture both high throughput IVDs destined for use in large centralized hospital settings, as well as individual immunoassays intended for evidence based personalized medicine (point-of-care testing, POCT).
Design and development of new medical devices is done in close collaboration with local or international companies and research centers such as universities. This allows the R&D team of apDia to broaden its view and knowledge on the clinical applications which in turn makes it possible to develop optimally designed medical devices. Collaborations are being established to explore innovative and promising new technologies.
apDia has implemented the Quality System ISO 13485:2003 and manufactures CE marked IVDs.
apDia has an established expertise in the field of cell culture, immunoassay development, recombinant protein development, protein purifications, conjugation of biomolecules.
It is apDia’s main goal to offer innovative, advanced and practical diagnostic immunoassays which stand out by their speed, excellent performance and user friendliness. All research activities within apDia aim to establish this for various domains and applications in human diagnostics. Since the availability of highly specific biomarkers is of utmost importance in achieving improved diagnostic assays, the company is also exploring the possibilities to identify novel markers for certain diseases and apDia is continuously looking for partners to achieve this by combining expertise.
The company is actively involved in an EU project, in cooperation with 6 universities, on validation of parameters for depression and mood disorders.
The company has a special interest in advanced diagnostics in the fields of following disorders: rheumatism–inflammation, infectious diseases, cardiovascular diseases, cancers, psychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders.
