AlgoNomics' mission is to develop rationally designed vaccines, for the treatment of human cancer, infectious or autoimmune diseases.

Since its foundation in 1999, Algonomics has built a unique structural bioinformatics platform that is applied to identify and optimize peptides for usage in vaccine development. Algonomics has focused its activities on the immunotherapy field, resulting in the 2002 launch of its Epibase(TM) T-cell epitope (peptides) identification platform, combining structural bioinformatics with in vitro assays.(

AlgoNomics developed two technology platforms

The Epibase(TM) technology platform is geared to the discovery, modification and/or enhancement of T-cell epitopes. The in silico and in vitro identification addresses both MHC class I molecules (CTL or Cytoxic T-Cell response) as well as MHC class II molecules (T-helper response, mediating processes such as antibody production). Epibase(TM) runs on a high power computer cluster allowing accurate and fast prediction of T-cell epitopes of any given protein antigen for any given MHC subtype.
AlgoNomics partners the Tripole(TM) technology platform for the discovery, characterization as well as optimization of peptide or protein leads. This platform finds its applications in the engineering and design of therapeutic proteins and antibodies, as well as in peptide lead design and re-engineering.

Alliances

AlgoNomics initiated a vaccine collaboration with Innogenetics in 2001. Over the past years, AlgoNomics initiated various collaborations, including Pevion Biotech (CH), the Laboratory for retroviral research (LU) and Ablynx (BE).
