Bruker microCT is one of the most important players worldwide specialising in three dimensional (3D) imaging of the internal microstructure of objects in a non-destructive, non-invasive way using microCT (Computer Tomography) technology. The instruments designed and produced by Bruker microCT open the possibility to look inside an object without cutting or any other sample preparation.
The technology is comparable to the medical CT scanner (or CAT scanner) where one is able to see virtual slices across the human body using X-rays. Bruker microCT combines the basic concept of the medical scanner with advanced X-ray microscopy. This allows scientists to see details in a volume which are one million times smaller than can be resolved by clinical CT. It is possible to see details down to several hundred of nanometers (0.0001 millimeters).
The microCT scanners of Bruker microCT are used in a very broad field of applications: life science (e.g. bone and tissue), materials (metals, plastics, composites, foams, textiles, ceramics), electronic components, geological samples, wood, paper, seeds etc. Living small laboratory animals (mice and rats) can also be scanned for pre-clinical studies in human drug development.
Bruker microCT's mission is to deliver the highest possible resolution in microCT scanning. In other words, we offer a technique to see the smallest details inside an object in 3D, without cutting the sample.
