OPINNO – open innovation for successful entrepreneurship – aims to bridge the gap between life sciences education and industry, and stimulate entrepreneurship among students. OPINNO organizes teaching modules with life sciences entrepreneurs that share their industry experience with students.
The lectures of this teaching module will be in English.

1:45 - 2:30 pm Starting up a biotech company Stefaan Wera, Okapi Sciences (company that develops antiviral drugs for animals)
2:30 - 3:15 pm Introduction: innovation in the biotech sector & innovation strategy in an international company Frederik Vaningelgem, Genencor International (biotech company that produces industrial enzymes)
3:15 - 4:00 pm Coffee Break
4:00 - 4:45 pm Innovation strategy in a small company Mark Vaeck, Complix (company that develops therapeutic proteins to treat diseases)
4:45 - 6:00 pm Interactive panel discussion chaired by Peter Raeymaekers, Science Journalist With all speakers and Henk Joos, QUINVITA (a company that focuses on Jatropha breeding for biofuel and feed applications)
