FlandersBio organises events that provide opportunities for networking and tapping into the knowledge and expertise of all the life sciences companies. We also keep you informed about other interesting life sciences events. You can also send us your life sciences event.
This year, too, FlandersBio and Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT) are creating platforms for Flemish companies to meet major Japanese companies with commercial opportunities for biotechnology. The joint initiative is centering around Bio Expo Japan 2010, taking place in Tokyo from June 30 to July 2, 2010.
The Japanese pharmaceutical market is the second largest in the world, after the USA, accounting for over 10% of the total world market. Cost reduction is putting increasing pressure to large Japanese pharmaceutical companies to look for external technology leads, resulting in commercial opportunities for biotech ventures.
Over the years, Flanders has built up a strong reputation in this area, thanks to joint initiatives of Flandersbio and Flanders Investment and Trade (FIT). This year, too, we are creating platforms for Flemish companies to meet major Japanese companies with commercial opportunities for biotechnology. Our joint initiative is centering around Bio Expo Japan 2010, taking place in Tokyo from June 30 to July 2, 2010.
Bio Expo Japan is Asia’s largest biotech event, with 650 exhibitors and more than 20,000 visitors, and with ample opportunity to meet all major players in the biotech and pharmaceutical field from Japan and from other Asian countries. FlandersBio and FIT are organizing a booth of 54 m2.
In addition to your participation as co-exhibitor at the booth, FIT can set up dedicated meetings with potential business partners, before, during or after the fair. Since medical devices and equipment are also well presented at the fair, we encourage our Medtech members to join the mission to Japan.
Participants can give a free 30-minutes company presentation at the Bio Venture Forum that takes place at Bio Expo Japan. Since places are limited, this free service is only for early applicants on a first-come first-serve basis. FlandersBio or FIT will also present the Flemish biotech cluster separately at a special cluster presentation event at the fair.
On July 5, 2010, the 11th Flemish Biotech Seminar in Japan will take place in Osaka, in collaboration with the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI). During this seminar, Flemish companies and organizations have the opportunity to present their technologies and services. These Flemish seminars have an excellent reputation in Japan, and are well attended by Japanese biotech, pharmaceutical and chemical companies. The reception following the seminar is a great setting for further discussions and networking. During the day, OCCI will organize B2B meetings with the major pharmaceutical companies of the Osaka area, exclusively for the Flemish participants.
Participating SMEs are eligible to financial support for this event by applying on-line for export subsidies via FIT in Brussels. Click here for more info.
This is a fixed subsidy, depending on the destination and length of stay, which can cover up to 50% of your flight and hotel costs.
One month before the start of the exhibition, FIT Tokyo will send out a direct mailing to its extensive list of contacts presenting all co-exhibitors and their area of business. Also your (potential) customers can be included in this mailing list.
Companies interested in joining one or more of these events in Japan can do so by simply contacting F.I.T. Tokyo at contact@fitagency.com (+81 3 5210 5882) before Friday, May 14, 2010.
This deadline and e-mail address also applies to the list of your (potential) customers to be included in the direct mailing.
