Good salary management is crucial for hiring and retaining (R&D) personnel. For this reason, 9 Flemish biotech companies and 5 Belgian R&D based pharma employers joined their input for the 2009 Biotech/Pharma R&D salary survey. This meeting is open for HR Managers of FlandersBio member organisations only.
In this meeting Yves Van De Steen & Bart Schoofs, Consultants at Hewitt, presented the non confidential outcome of the 2009 R&D salary study. It provided you with ranges for some 37 R&D related positions (Lab Support, Technicians, Scientists, Statisticians, Clinical Research Personnel, Data Coordinators, Trial Managers, QA Personnel, Bioinformaticians), in the pharma/biotech industry. 2 new functions were added in the 2009 study: Preclinical Project Leader and Project Manager. The data were compared with the results of previous years.
After the break Joke Comijn, Communications Manager at FlandersBio, demonstrated how we can help you with your online recruitment. In the past we offered a free channel for all life science related vacancies to be grouped on one page. In the future we will enhance this basic service using CVWarehouse integrated solution to bring structure to your recruitment process. Kris Buggenhout, VP Human Resources at Ablynx, brought the case story of Ablynx, that has been using the system since June 2006.
After the presentation of the salary survey results, there was a short discussion on the plans for future HR surveys, events and HR activities at Knowledge for Growth in 2010.
