The BIO International Convention is the largest global event for the biotechnology industry. Just like last year, FlandersBio and Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT) joined forces for the Flemish representation in the Belgian Pavilion at the convention.

The BIO International Convention took place this year from 3-6 May 2010 in Chicago, US.
The following Flemish organisations joined FlandersBio and FIT to the US:
Flanders, Brussels and the Walloon region shared 200 m2 exhibition space at the Belgian Pavilion in BIO's exhibition hall. The Flemish side focused on Flanders' strenghts to attract investments to the region. Most of the Flemish companies also participated in the one-to-one partnering meetings, which still proves to be a successful formulae.
The first day of the exhibition started with the third edition of the Belgian Breakfast, with keynote talks from BAXTER and Amgen. We welcomed some 200 participants to this meeting.
Just like last year, we organised a Flemish dinner, sponsored by Flanders Investment & Trade, the ideal way for Flemish companies to meet and to network.
This social networking event with live music, free Belgian beers and French fries was again a great succes. About 750 visitors passed by at the famous Chicago bar Buddy Guy's Legends.
The 2011 edition will take place from June 27-30, 2011 at the Washington, DC Convention Center.
