FlandersBio is the driving force for the sustained growth of the life sciences and biotechnology sector. The aim of our projects is to build enough critical mass to attract companies, investors and service providers.
Innovation is crucial in the biotech sector. Creating an environment in which innovation can lead to economic growth and employment, requires the presence of 3 types of innovation: ‘innovation in products and services’, ‘innovation of processes’ and ‘structural innovation’. FlandersBio is one of the partners in the European project Euregional PACT II, the Euregional Platform for Advancing Cancer Treatment. This project aims to combine the complementary knowledge and expertise present at 5 universities and to bridge universities and life sciences industry. Read more
FlandersBio initiated the Bio-ExTRAKT programme (Biotechnology Expansion Through Regional Awareness and Knowledge Transfer) in April 2009. After a successful completion, FlandersBio launced Bio-ExTRAKT II in 2010. One of the main objectives of the programme is to stimulate transnational R&D partner matching.
