FlandersBio’s mission is to support and further develop the life sciences & biotechnology sector. Our objective is to ensure that the life sciences remain a strong driver of economic growth in the region and to build sufficient critical mass to attract new R&D companies, investors, service & technology providers as well as skilled employees.

FlandersBio wil de sector van de biowetenschappen en biotechnologie ondersteunen en verder ontwikkelen. Onze doelstelling is ervoor te zorgen dat de sector de drijvende kracht blijft achter de economische groei in Vlaanderen.

The FlandersBio network brings together companies with innovative, R&D-driven activities in the life sciences – companies that are for example developing biopharmaceuticals, medical technologies or agricultural or industrial biotech products. Our network welcomes companies with production activities based in Flanders as well as academic research institutes and providers of capital, services and technologies to the life sciences community.

FlandersBio represents the life sciences cluster in Flanders.

Strategy to accomplish the FlandersBio mission

  1. Providing access to an extensive network, fostering networking, exchanging knowledge and stimulating national and international collaborations
  2. Stimulating innovation in order to expand the R&D activities of the life sciences actors
  3. Proactive lobbying to ensure a supportive environment for all life sciences actors and increase the region's competitiveness
  4. Enhancing the international visibility of the Flemish life sciences sector and the region of Flanders
  5. Supporting life sciences companies willing to invest in Flanders (in collaboration with third parties such as FIT and VIB)
